Rhondda Cynon Taf has rich history and heritage. We helped to power the world with our industry and inspired the great minds of Sir Isambard Kingdom Brunel and George Stephenson. Our landscape and culture was carved by the search for "black gold" (coal) and we are home to cultural icons including Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau composers Evan and James James, actor Glyn Houston and, of course, Sir Tom Jones and the Sterophonics.
